The first trading session of lunar New Year brought luck for investors with another gain. After the first stage of February 22, the index of Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC) gained 6.19 points or 1.22 percent to 513.19 pts with the total trading volume of over two million shares worth over 81 billion dong.
In the following phase, the VN Index bounced 2.71 pts or 0.53 percent to 509.71 pts with the total matching order trade of over 15.7 million shares valued at over 651 billion dong.
Ending the trading session today February 22, the VN Index bounded 3.02 pts or 0.6 percent to 510.02 pts.
The liquidity decreased when the total trading volume reached over 19.1 million shares worth over 794 billion dong, down 14 percent in both volume and value against the previous session.
The statistic showed that amongst 199 listed shares and four fund certificates on the southern bourse, the market saw 103 shares increased with seven reaching the ceiling price, 62 others decreased with seven falling to the floor price and 48 shares stood still.
HPG, FPT and VNM slipped slightly whereas STB and EIB remained unchanged. VCB and CTG gained 700 dong and 900 dong to 45,200 dong per share and 29,900 dong per share along with VIC, DPM, BVH and HAG.
Some reaching the ceiling price included VPL, VPH, ACL, BAS, FBT and L10 meanwhile some others fell such as APC, AGD, NHW, HT1, DVX and TRL.
In terms of trading volume, STB led the market with over 1.84 million shares and then SAM over 800,000, REE 750,000, VNM 640,000, TPC 550,000, SSI 520,000 and DPM 510,000 shares being traded.
Similarly, the northern bourse marked the fourth consecutive gain when the HNX Index increased 0.94 points or 0.57 percent to 165.6 pts.
Total trading volume reached over nine million shares worth 297.8 billion dong, increasing 13 percent in volume and 17 percent in value against the previous session.
Amongst 266 listed shares on the northern bourse, the market witnessed 169 shares increased, 52 others decreased, 25 stood still and 20 with no trade.
Only SQC slipped 4,100 dong to 153,000 dong per share while other key stocks increased such as ACB +300 dong, BVS +200, KLS +300, NTP +200, PVI and PVX +200, PVS +300, SHB +100 and VCG +800 dong per share.
KLS reached the biggest trading volume with 1.97 million shares and followed by VCG with 680,000, VGS with 590,000, and ACB with 390,000 shares being changed hands.
